Lakpass Tunnel BOT Project is the 1st BOT Project of National Highway Authority (NHA). This project was awarded to ICPL through FWO. ICPL have not constructed the tuneel alongwith access road but it will also operate and mantain this Tunnel Project upto Year 2031.
This project is a part of National Highway N-25 that stretches from Karachi to Chaman via Quetta. Lakhpass falls on south eastern flank of the Chiltan Hills. The Highway N-25 has strategic and economic importance for landlocked Center Asian Countries to have access to sea. After Afghan war and dissolution of USSR, its utility of heavy traffic increasing day by day. Therefore, The Government of Pakistan has taken this Highway on priority basis for improving it to International Highway Standard. Improvement works are in progress at many sections of this Highway with the Financial Assistance from international donors as well as from in house resources from Government of Pakistan.
The Board of Directors of IBEX Construction (Pvt) Ltd comprises of four directors nominated by M/s FWO. three of them are representing FWO and one is independent directors as per SECP regulations.

The success of this project has developed confidence and faith in the BOT Projects in Pakistan. Private investors would be now willing to undertake mega projects in Public Private Partnership which will pave the way for rapid development in financially starved economy of Pakistan.
